It's generally not a bad thing to have links from irrelevant websites (unless they're spam!). However, links from websites within your industry are always better.
Irrelevant Links:
Your site is linked to places where you do not want your brand to appear. This is usually not the case. Your brand's reputation may be tarnished by irrelevant links from competitors. It's not just a single backlink from a random competitor.
If you wish to reduce your spam links, you can disable them in the Google search console.

Yes. Firstly find out those link which can harm your website rankings and then disavow those links.
