Does Mobile Optimization really effecting ranking during the recent Google updates? Some are telling me that mobile optimized sites are not that much effected.

I don't think that its true. I have seen many sites which are mobile optimized but stiil got hit pretty bad.

if you have not yet updated your site, I would strongly encourage you to do so soon. If you haven’t been hit by Google yet, it could only be a matter of time as this update rolls out over the coming weeks.
