Blog commenting isn't much or any help if anybody is trying to build links.

I am new to link building so I said out of now where. Where should I start from I am confused. Some are are saying customized PBN's will be good place but others are suggesting guest blogging.

Well if you are totally new then don't just go for PBN's, they are for advanced marketers. You might end up spamming your link profile or even worse, getting penalized by Google. Start with guest posting its your best bet here.
