Adwords are pricey now. So, in one hand gain and on another hand do the math. Still, I know what you are saying.
Probably another update is going on. Traffic from very odd hours are high now.

Tools aren't effecting these days. So, you just have to wait for the others to say anything or get your analytics reports analyzed.
