I will strongly suggest <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://ubersuggest.org/">http://ubersuggest.org/</a><!-- m --> , this is great tool it provides adjacent keyword by selecting your keyword as base. Its also very good finding out long tail keywords. Aside from this you also try <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://oodlesuggest.com/oodle_suggests/">http://oodlesuggest.com/oodle_suggests/</a><!-- m --> , this one is also good.

Keyword tools will be considered as a guide (for me) for the monthly visits and related keyword phrases but I would focus more on analyzing the targeted audience behavior within an active online community. This will provide the needs and expectations of the users so you can come up with a great idea on how to effectively approach them and engage.
