I am seeing terrible results for some long tail kw's in our niche which were ranking pretty high but fell to the third or fourth page of the SERP's since this update started coming out. Are you guys seeing this too?

First of all, are you sure that you are not seeing any personalized results??
And second it may have happened. Because many sites were just ranking due to long tail keywords without providing actual useful information or any information at all.
Google is just removing them.

Useless content. Only ranking because of long tail keywords are only getting effected. People have many bigger things to worry about after this update.

Algorithm update in Google is not always the basis for the fluctuation of your rankings mostly affects on competitors performance because they already outranking your website.

Longtail keywords are easy to rank. Though I have not noticed any update like that you are talking about. May be I missed.
