Yes, Its may hurt because google ignore all backlinks if they come from same website again and again.

If you know the backlinks are genuine (by genuine I mean they are there not only for sake of getting backlinks only, they have some other purpose), then google’s algorithms are now much developed that it will know it, so no worries. Though, that many backlinks from one site won’t much valuable, but won’t harm.

Well I checked for the relevancy and other means such as the hosting page. Its merit and demerits along with the entire site's background check.
