One of the best methods to promote better alignment with your audience, fostering trust and growth for your brand, is to create online communities.

An online community is a collection of people who communicate with one another through the use of digital media.

Publishers, creators, and company owners from communities so that their viewers can communicate more directly with them and one another.

Twitter and Facebook, for example, are online communities in their own right.

People will often gravitate to more specialist groups where they may create specific connections, such as connecting with a favourite writer or those engaging in a communal challenge, because they are available to the public and contain such a diverse range of content.

The Different Types of Online Communities

The type of online community you develop will be determined by the answer to the question above: what kind of community does your customer want? Your artisan coffee community isn't interested in sharing their coffee-tasting experiences with a billion or more people. They're looking for a small group of coffee aficionados that know what they're talking about and share comparable tastes.

Public social media sites.

Consider Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and even Vine (RIP), which had a sizable online following. Public social networks are online communities in which membership is based solely on having an account.

Communities with a distinct identity.

A private social network is the polar opposite of this form of community. To gain access to the community, you'll need more than just an email address and a password. Consider a virtual version of a SOHO house or a private members club. Even if it's on a public social media site, you'll need the necessary credentials (experience, common interests, geography, etc.) to gain entry to the community.
