How to stay ahead of the Local SEO game compared to the competitors?
It doesn't have much competition in Google though. A few are ranking for a bunch of keywords. Any advice??!!

I am assuming that your site is a new site. Build content that can be easily consumed by the customer of yours.
Get relevant backlinks from the sites from which your competitors are getting.
Also consider getting listed in the local directory listing sites.
Share some more info about your competitors.

I am already listed in local directory sites. And also have some links from local stores. But the sites are in blogger soon I will be moving into paid hosting.

2. Create and optimize your Google my business account
3. Getting reviews from satisfied customers is a good way
4. Optimize your website mobile friendly
5. Write a trustful content
6. Optimize voice search which is trending
7. Use local specific directories sites to submit website
