how to manage effective quality score in ppc text ads, please share some experience ?

When the first time I had a text ppc campaign arranged it was hard for me to get some conversion. Due to various reasons it happened that way as my landing pages were not optimized, keywords targeted were wrong etc. But gradually i learned them through practice.
