I just bought an old domain. And after purchasing I found that it has a PR of one but its DA is zero. Why the metrics are o different?

Because both are totally different metrics and have nothing to do with each other. And why do you care for DA its a completely third metrics which has no effect on the SERP's whatsoever.

Although both has nothing to do with each other still PR has not been updated publicly for a long time. And DA gets updated every month.

Page rank is no more important these days as Google has stopped updating their page rank algorithm. The page rank is being shown from the last updated Google had 3 years back. Domain authority is a Moz metric and it is more important for your website. You will need to work on good content and backlinks to help improve the DA for your website.
