Metrics to look at before getting a link from - DA or PA or Spam Score?
#1
If you had to get a link from a site then how would you judge the site? Would you judge it by it's Majestic metrics such as TF/CF or Moz metrics such as DA/PA or as some like to say check 'spam score'?

I know it be a odd question to many here. But I am just confused here. Everybody suggests to get a link from a good site. But nobody says how to decide the site is good or not.

If you want to know about a site then you have to check all of the metrics that you can find. All of these will generate a pretty decent idea about the site.

But choosing a site for links isn't that simple. You will have to check the content of the site by yourself. Or, get it done by anyone who knows about that field. Are real people looking for the content? Are they interested in? It's not always about the search engines. A site may not look like much now but it can have a potential in the future. If people like it then sure, you can proceed.

Now this is a great suggestion.

Value of the host page is important. How good is the page, is it providing any value, if yes then is it acknowledged by the search engines and getting ranked. If ranked then how well it is ranking?

Also some sitewide things to look at such as. Is the site genuine? Is the involved in link farming or selling links. Most importantly does the site look like that it has been selling links or such? Because sometimes the site may be genuine by the looks raises eyebrows which increases thee probability of trouble.

I do believe in domain Authority and page authority. As the website passes its link juice, We must always check high Da Pa websites.

Basically these metrics reflects only a general idea of a page. They don't even get to the detailed points of any page. Why? Because they are a third party metrics which have no say whatsoever in terms of Google or the site owner.

You will be a fool if you rule out any page for links because they have low DA/PA.

When evaluating a potential backlink, it's essential to consider several key metrics to ensure its value and effectiveness. Domain Authority (DA) and Page Authority (PA) are crucial indicators of a website's overall strength and credibility. DA measures the likelihood of a website ranking well in search engine results of  siding installations, while PA focuses on the strength of an individual page. Higher DA and PA scores generally indicate a more authoritative site, which can positively impact your SEO efforts.

When evaluating a link before acquiring it, consider these metrics:

Domain Authority (DA): Measures the overall strength and credibility of a domain on a scale of 1-100. Higher DA typically indicates a more reputable site.

Page Authority (PA): Evaluates the strength of a specific page on a scale of 1-100. Higher PA suggests that the page has a better chance of ranking well in search engines.

Spam Score: Indicates the likelihood of a site being considered spammy. A high spam score could mean the site has a history of questionable practices, which could negatively impact your SEO.

Additionally, consider the relevance of the site to your niche, traffic metrics, and the context of the link placement. All these factors combined will help you assess the potential value and risk of acquiring a link.

Well, for me is, is the site’s content relevant to your niche?
A relevant backlink is more valuable than one from an unrelated site, regardless of metrics.
Is the site producing high-quality, well-researched content? If the content seems spammy or low quality, that could be a red flag.
