As all things are going automated and increasing at good rate. Does this mean that PPC is also going to be automated in the near future?

It may be a possibility but its not possible. Getting sales from your customers or filtering your customers can't be done by any kind of automated service. Generating leads is making the customers take the leap of faith to get sales which no machined service can do that.

PPC campaigns are not just about running ads by money. They needed to be tracked, analyzed, altered and even change or stop if needed. So, its very hard for any automated software to do the work. Marketers has to follow his instincts for this.
