Ranking old keywords is not that difficult you can republish the content as updated on the same page and/or you can create valuable authority pages linking towards them with relevant anchor text from the hosting page to the linking one.

The reason that your rankings doesn't move or stuck in the specific search results page is that the website has no improvement or competitor websites outrank yours.
