Reddit can be total waste of time if you don't do it carefully. Republishing an old content can get you red flagged also, so do it unless if you have very good points to add in the original post.

Reddit can be done but with very careful manner. publishing a link could be a good idea. but better is to post fresh upcoming trends and starts a discussion on your reddit link.

Publish or submit the link and republish the link to get traffic from Reddit. It is a good source of traffic and gives you relevant traffic to your site.
