I will say that you must create content which are unique and fresh. But as to your query, i must suggest you that recreate the old content with more updated ideas, you can basically do that by giving them dated ideas, create the competitive analysis with your past content to related other content ideas, if you had written the advantages of something in your post then provide the disadvantages in the other etc.
