I see a lot of people who promote their brand name quite vigorously. Does it really helps SEO? I mean to get them ranked.

Promoting the brand is a process of reaching the target users and build relationship. Its a part of optimization method to provide interesting information to the audience.

Promoting your brand name will help to increase your brand presence in search engine and online media. They do benefit your online business but not very helpful to rank your business in search results.
