Is really wise to link my competitors blog from my blog? Considering the fact that one of my post needed to be linked to that blog for relevant topic. Shouldn't it be passing my hard earned link juice?

Surely you can link. Just add a no-follow tag in that link in this way you won't be passing any link juice.

If you are afraid of passing link juice then just make the link no-follow. Its the easy way.

It is no wise but sometimes they can gave you a link back in favor.

If you don't want to pass the link juice then it would be better to make that link no follow.
