What do you guys think? Does the value of long tail keywords have decreased due to the evolution of semantic search? Search engines are becoming more and more intelligent, now they are determining the contextual meaning of the searched phrase.

The value of long tail keywords have nothing to do with semantic search. If a user search for a specific long tail keyword then search engines will show its SERP's according to the long tail keyword match not by understanding its contextual meaning of it.

I don't think that it has effected much the value of long tail keywords. Search engines always shows the results first which have exact matches.

Exact long tail keywords are always going to play a foremost role in the SERP's no matter how much search engines evolve.
