It is always a good technique to increase your traffic and exposure. Suppose you have a content which was getting traffic from the social media (say 10 visits per day), after then when you posted some new topics they started to get traffic from the social media. But your previous topic was good enough to drive traffic of all time, so now if you re-share the same topic not only you will get traffic for your old post but also for the new one this means a 10 visits extra per day.
