If a machine isn’t properly working after a reboot what to do here?

The VPS worked fine. But when I rebooted it after an update, it simply started causing problems. When I am giving command it is saying error .-/

I think it could be a hardware related issue. Often these things happen old hardware doesn't give any trouble until you install or upgrade to the latest software module or gets new drivers. Report it to the company at once, they shall replace you the machine. I am guessing you have already made backups.

Sounds like the update broke something—boot into recovery mode and check logs or try a system rollback if available.
