Is it wise to join two separate keywords? To be indexed and ranked as for one.

As long as you can join the keywords. But they has to be relevant to each other and good if they are related.

Why do you want to join two separate keyword anyway? By two keywords you can rank for both of them.

Yes, you can join the two separate keywords. but they are related to each other.
