Along with adsense. Start promoting affiliate products. Choose low budget products and see how they converts, if well then increase choose high end products.

If it generates good amount of traffic then you can consider selling direct ads. In case of news sites they are very easy to get sales.

I agree. With Danni here. Even though its a new blog but still if its good then selling ads will generate more revenue.
