XenForo Hosting in KnownHost
#1
I checked the Xenforo app hosting in KnownHost. Turns out to be a simple shared hosting with with pre-installed Xenforo in it. And some are very basic packages. Now my query here is that given the nature of XF will it be wise to run a high end forum in shared hosting?

It is true that XenForo heavy scripted app. But KnownHost is also not a beginner in the web hosting world. If they are providing something then surely their machines have the capacity to take the load off them. It all comes down to your requirement. Whether your site will be able to run on it or not. If you are mulling about buying from them then just contact them and tell your traffic details along with how much you are expecting during peak hours. They surely will provide some insightful info about it.

Any standard script will be able to function even in a shared hosting. It may not look like it but surely it will.

Now correctly pointed out as earlier, will your site be able to run on it or not that is a different question all together. What are the specs of the machine you are running on now? Compare them. That might give you some of the idea.

I have tried to contact them. So, far not so much luck in talking sense though. But I will keep trying.

@app My current machine isn't the issue because it is in the uni server. Now I am separating the forum from the uni.

I will let you guys know what happens.
