Shifter Proxy Review
#1
Ideal for people who are looking for extensive collection of ip’s whether they are residential or else. SEO companies or individuals who do web scraping will find it really good for themselves. Although I would not recommend them to users who work solo or just want a proxy for themselves. They are more of an enterprise level stuff.
IP rotation frequency and managing multiple accounts of social media seems pretty easy with them. However they do rotate ip’s every 5 minutes or so. People who are working long works can find it difficult to use. Because rotating ip over a request is preferred by many.
They can also be difficult if sudden load of traffic comes crashing down.
Apart from the above things I haven’t found anything unusual or anything to complain about. With reasonable pricing and standard packages & features they are a decent proxy service. I would definitely give them a solid 7.5 out of 10 here. Cheers !

What kind of traffic spikes can this service handle effectively?

Great and balanced review! You’ve highlighted the key pros and cons really clearly — especially about IP rotation and the suitability for enterprise users. I agree, the 5-minute rotation might be a challenge for longer sessions, but overall it sounds like a reliable service. Thanks for sharing this review. It’s helpful to see an honest breakdown instead of just pros. Shifter does seem like a good option if someone needs a large IP pool and reliable rotation, especially for SEO work or scraping tasks. That said, the fixed rotation time can definitely be a limitation depending on how you’re using it.

For solo users or smaller projects, the cost and rotation behavior might not always be ideal, so it really comes down to the use case. Some people end up combining different setups, like using cheap dc proxies for tasks where rotation speed or session control matters more.

Overall, appreciate you taking the time to explain what worked and what didn’t—this kind of feedback makes these threads genuinely useful.
