What is Local Citations??

The local citations I have been hearing a lot these days. Can anybody explain it to me please.

Local Citation is a SEO term. It means the mentioning of your company or brand in the local websites. It may or may not contain a direct link of your site but it will contain the other information which a probable local customer should know such as address, product specifications, reviews etc.

If your Brand or Product name gets named in the local sites (news or local directory sites) along with the entire information of your product or brand then it is called local citation.
