Target country changed through WMT, still no traffic!! - intmedia - 09-23-2019
I was getting all International traffic. No specific can be stated. But since I changed my preferred country through the webmasters tool. The traffic is falling every day. And that is not it.
Since I changed my target country, I should be gaining links from there, right? But that is not happening too. Its been more or less three weeks and traffic is decreasing gradually.

Its not a flip switch, you know. You can't just switch over to a country and expect to get ranked quickly. It depends on the country, maybe the competition there is more tough.
You were getting International traffic, right? That means you were doing something right. My suggestion to you will be switch over to international again. Atleast the flow of traffic will be alright for you. Analyze the target country's competition and demand first & then act accordingly.

You target may have higher competition. Or, you can't just match your competitors backlink profile. Could be anything.
I agree with @anush here. Analyze first before jumping into something new.

The reason why its getting all international traffic is your strategy because it is focus more on general industry for the different regions.
