There are many ways to distribute content correctly such as publishing them in Linkedin Content Publishing Platform, posting them in mas answering sites such as Quora or reddit, making video's to point out the main facts about your article & embedding a link within it put the video on Youtube, and not to mention putting good article in the community boards and forums in your niche.

These are some really good points mentioned by Frank here.
I will suggest that go for paid directories. Not free ones but paid ones. You might also get some link back to your site as well.

Many people will suggest many ways. But that's not the point here. You have to promote your content in those channels where your audience actually reside otherwise it will be a waste of time anyway.

Indeed for beginners its very good. But in my opinion, audience can be gathered outside the conventional mediums too.
