I just got some links from a non-niche site's of high authority? Are they going to harm my site.

Now here comes the question. How high authority sites, what type of links you are getting and most important how you are getting them?

Generally, It will not effect you if you get backlink from non-niche site but if they found you spamming they will block you soon after that and one more thing to add more value to your backlinks try to create on niche sites.

Mostly they are news sites which has referred to me through contextual links.

As far as I have seen. News sites referral links doesn't help or effect ranking anyway even if they are do-follow. But still they will send tons of traffic so why don't leverage them? Keep them.

Exactly, my thought.

And if you are uncomfortable about the links then just contact the site owners and ask them to make them no-follow.
