Which is best way to contact old customers? Who have been on the cold for months.

Now here comes the question that what do you have of them.
Phone number, emails or what? If you have phone numbers then call them and if you have email ids then mail them. You can also hire someone to do it for you. There are plenty of freelancers who just work for these case scenarios such as calling old customers who haven't been in contact for long.

Contact them whatever means you have got of them.
But you can't just expect them to be warmly welcome you. As because just you said the list has gotten cold so don't expect much ROI.

I would say email them. Calling them its a bit drastic.
