What are the best possible ways to promote an eCommerce site to get conversions out of it?

Here are some ways.
* Put the word out by doing a press release.
* Start promoting your site through Ad campaigns but don't start big. Start small at first and increase your budget according to your success.
* Start promoting in the social groups and forum market places as well.
* Build and email list of your clients and start sending emails. Indirectly promote your site with this.

Start a PPC Campaign its the right thing to do for an Ecommerce site. It will take some money for investment but you will get good ROI in return if you administer it right.

I agree. It has worked for us. At first we were not making much as time passed we gained some experience through our failures, hired some PPC marketers to do the work and also to teach us. Now it works like charm.
