If I use hyphens in my sites url say <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.xyz.com/my-profile-page">www.xyz.com/my-profile-page</a><!-- w --> like this. Then they will help SEO?

Well they do not impact SEO directly as I will say. But they are going to add some value on on-page factors.

Technically hyphens are recognized as a separator (or space), so they should be used in instances where search engines may not correctly discriminate your keywords.

I'm looking into specialised hosting for WP, one provider has three different server locations but none in the UK. However, they have over 30 CDN locations.
