No uniform traffic this week. Traffic is throttling. I guess the update is also happening. But direct traffic from regular users should have been left alone, right?

Not always they are direct.
I have learnt it the hard way.
GA then again manipulates the data.

GSC is indexing but slowly. Many are also complaining about not getting indexed at all.

One of our url got deindexed twice after getting indexed. And then atlast it got deindexed. I have snot seen so confused Google.

My guess is G was trying something new. And it really didn't went as plan. Because in this way they will loose advertisers faster than ever.

That is one possibility yes.
Anyway, new keywords are down by 20% in terms of indexing and also 50% in terms of getting ranked well.
