When I check my link profile in google webmasters tool. I see plenty of links which I don't know where they came from. I don't understand properly here. If I am not being attacked somehow then how these type of links are getting picked up by my site?

Can anybody explain it to me?!
The sites which are popular or has a social media presence somehow are bound to run into these problems. These are not abnormal activity. If you pick up a bad link then just disavow it.
If a page gets popular somehow then it will get some links (good and/or bad). Basically these are mainly created by bots.
I think it usually come from contact form spam and irrelevant blog commenting

OP is asking about incoming traffic. Not outgoing ones. Read before you write.
Popular websites face this issue several times so, if you found any irrelevant link in your webmaster then just disavow them!!
Some come from irrelevant blog comments. You must add a filter on the comment option of your blog. Without your approval, none of comment will be published.

Its for incoming links what OP asked for. Not outgoing links.
