I was just wondering how do they monetize? They can't go for adsense that's for sure. Because most of these sites violates adsense policies.

I don't have much knowledge regarding this. But how can you be so sure that they violates adsense policies?

Because meme sites are mostly image only sites. They don't provide much content.

To OP I suggest that choose an ad network that specializes in images only.
