Recently I heard a person who is a marketing people ofcourse very definitely advocating the fact that we should get naked links in our link profile.

So, I asked him this question that why should we need them? He said it diversifies the link profile and make it look very natural to Google. In this way we can't get penalized.
I don't know who told you it. But its not the kind of information that one should spread around.

If you have naked links then it doesn't necessarily mean that your link profile will look natural and others who don't have will look unnatural.

And more importantly if you want the information to pass quickly to Google about what your page is all about then anchor text in the links are the best way to do it.

Now if you want so badly naked links in your profile then there are plenty of ways to get them. You can put them in directories.
Nicely said Paul.

It doesn't matter how many naked links you have. One can have all links optimized with great anchor texts and no naked links, & still it will not effect in any way. As long as they are relevant.
So, you guys are saying that there isn't any optimum ratio about it. Right?
Just focus on your keyword for anchor text.
