How does SSL impact the ranking in SEO?
SSL doesn't have much effect in SEO.
SSL are important for SEO as Google says they are more secured webpages and rank them higher in search engines.

Google is now pushing this a year after it will have no effect.
SSL Certificate helps the website to boost the ranking. SSL Certificate works as Man-In-Middle Attacks. The data driven between Web server and browser is safe with the help of SSL Certificate. So personally, I feel SSL Certificate helps to boost the ranking after google update of HTTPS.
