If you are talking about getting link recognized by the search engines then I will say that in many cases the quality of the links are also dependent. It can get recognized overnight or it can take weeks.

According to my observation high quality of content and DA(Domain Authority) does matter while indexing. if you are posting on high DA sites there are high chances to get indexed. So its totally depends upon site authority and quality.
