Once in a month is quite a good practice. However, focusing on quality rather than the update frequency is a far better practice to have a successful blog.

I update my blog eCoupon.io daily and also when ever I find a new domain coupon useful for my end users.
It is good that if you update your blog on daily bases. If it is not possible then you should update it after two days.

It all depends on the industry. I have been writing blog posts for other people's blogs for years and the ones I see gaining the most success are always the ones posting multiple times a week.
