Is it really a good idea to track my PPC campaigns only through Google Analytics?

GA is a reputable tool so yeah you can do that. But its better when you use any other third party tool just to be sure.

I agree. PPC campaign involves money if don't want to loose money then you should all necessary measure that you get proper ROI.
