Currently, our forum is generating 5 new discussions a day. As it is new one. I want to know, is there any tricks to generate more discussions per day?

The trick is that help people in your forum. Make sure their problem get resolved by your posts. Start articles that actually help them apart from their posted discussions. And when the members feel that you are very trustworthy and they get their problems resolved every-time when they post in your forum then you forum will start generating discussions by itself exponentially.

At first, start creating your own interesting discussions. You can do that via creating some fake accounts or just ask your friends and/or co-workers to do that for you. Once your visitors start getting interested in your discussions then they will be creating their own discussions by themselves.

I guess you need to build your credibility first by making sure that you will be able to answer the inquiries that your visitors have.

Content attracts content. So, create your discussions first. You can also hire someone to do that for you.

Try to discuss current topics as everyday is different, people will take more interest & thus participate in forum.
