Yes, they can.
In Fact, ireelevant links from all kinds of websites will hurt you.
When you get irrelevant links for your website, you are telling Google that that irrelevant site gains importance to the content on your website.
Because of this, Google is confused about the information that your website provides to the users.
And you do not want Google to bew confused about this.
Hence irrelevant links are dangerous for the SEO of your website.
