Best Hosting for Forum

I am about to start a food forum. I have a hostgator account but i was wondering that whether it might be the right hosting to start a forum. Any suggestions.

Shared hostings are good for new forum. And hostgator is truly a good option. Yeah you can start the forum with it. And once you have gain members to your forum, your forum grew large then you can go after VPS.
