Is SMO going to take over SEO in Forum Marketing?

I was just wondering that as Forum SEO is very hard to do against doing SEO in blogs. So forum admins are focusing on SMO and outbound marketing. Will the SMO take over SEO in the case of forum marketing?

Yeah its true that forum SEO is much much harder as forum is a dynamic site and blogs are static.
But I personally don't think that social media could take over seo because no matter how much you put your effort in the social media marketing it is compared nothing to good seo. At first social media may be good to do the outreach and gain activity in the forum but in the long run seo will only prevail.
