Is there any limitations or requirements for the length of Guest Posting?

Or is it just a made up thing by the webmasters?

Technically there is no limitations or requirements about length of guest posts.

But some site admins just put a requirement such as 'minimum amount of words must be 500' because long posts are tend to lure the visitors as more insightful content than the short ones.
