What to look for when you are trying to buy an Email list?

Is there any specific condition that you people look for while buying a list? Or there is a set of them?

I am just curious because I am have came across a seller whose lists look very genuine. And also are very affordable.

-Is the list created solely keeping in mind for your targeted audience?

-Is the list live? If it's not live or not working then it is of no use.

-Organically grown or not?

These are few that I will look for.

No. doesn't matter if they are not live. Better to check the age of the list. How long ago it was created and on what on terms.
