Does branding can only done via PPC?

Maybe its just a stupid query from me to you webmasters. But I want to know that effective branding for any product can only be done by PPC? As many webmasters told me to do that.

Many webmasters suggest it because its easy and can be done within a short duration of time. But it doesn't mean that its the only way you can brand your product. There are plenty of other ways also such as guest posting, social awareness, forum marketing etc.

Branding can be done in lots of other ways also other than PPC. Any kind of marketing that creates a stand for your product can be considered as branding.
