Trying to make mobile pages responsive any good alternatives to Bootstrap? They are not much complicated, plain HTML page with associated CSS and Javascript codes.

Pure.css, GroundWork, Skeleton all these are best possible alternatives. And you have to choose which ever that suits you.

I tried to work with it once but failed miserably. I just think that its for experts.

Yeah, some might suggest that. It is believed that if you are not an experienced programmer then shall not do these things.
