Why does PPL works better than PPS in social networks?

Can anybody explain it to me carfully that why Pay per lead works better than Pay per sales in different social networks? I mean they are more or less the same, right?!

The simple answer to this question will be that pay per lead are more easy on social networks because they don't necessarily involve giving away credit card information.

Which is not in the case of sales. The user have to buy something from in order to get sales. And usually people are not comfortable giving away credit information and specially not in or through social networks.

Getting a signup or getting people submit their name is much easier then getting money out of people. And specially if its in social media then it becomes 10x more harder.
