You have to know what you are publishing otherwise its not going to happen. And also you have to put super relevant keywords and also keywords which your audience is looking for in the video's descriptions.
I have seen a plenty of videos which just got their first few views through the keywords placed in the header and then they go viral anyway.

The simplest trick is that upload videos with a good home sticky image that can attract users. And then share it in the social media channels.

Create small ad campaigns within Youtube. It can work. Not free but it will give you quick exposure.

Try to target right keywords. They will bring traffic. Just like SEO but from the late 90's where only by optimizing keywords you can bring huge traffic.
